What will I get out of this course?

 
  • The ability to make a safe door entry.
  • The ability to fight fires with appropriate extinguishing media as part of a team, if safe to do so..
  • The ability to conduct a dynamic fire risk assessment and re-assess as the fire develops.
  • On completion the delegate will receive a certificate of completion together with comprehensive delegate notes.
 
   

Who is it for?

 
This course is designed for delegates with specific responsibility for fighting fire as part of an auxiliary fire fighting team.

Price quoted is for the course to be held at Training Monitor. Discounted price of £1,800 available if Client arranges venue.

On Completion

 
On successful completion of the course delegates will receive a Fire Fighting Team Course.  
   

Course Overview

 
  • Fire Dynamics - To give the delegate an awareness of fire dynamics and human behavior in a fire situation.
  • Fire Development - An understanding of the difference between " Flashover" and "Back draught" and how fire spreads.
  • Fire Fighting Equipment - An overview of the equipment available on site describing its uses and limitations in conjunction with Classes of fire.
  • P.P.E. - Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Fire Legislation and Standards - To give the delegate an understanding of the growth of fire safety legislation and the impact of the Fire Safety Order 2005, Building Regulations and associated standards and guidance relating to fire.
  • Fire Prevention - An understanding of being proactive towards fire rather than reactive.
  • Dynamic Risk Assessment.
  • Hazard Control - An understanding of on site risks and how they would react in a fire situation.
